For the past few months our focus has been to ensure our teams are well prepared for the holiday season – so our clients can have peace of mind during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and end-of-year sales. To keep the momentum going and offer support for the upcoming sales season, we’re unveiling a few interesting and useful updates well before the shopping madness kicks off. Here are some enhancements we’ve made for clients running on Magento, Shopify and Shopware.

 

Enhancements for Magento Retailers

Multiple product additions to shopping cart

We’ve added support for adding related products or multiple products to a shopping cart directly from product recommendations – this essentially works as a bundled product recommendation. This feature is now available on both Magento 1 and Magento 2 along with the updated documentation.

Command line installer for developers

We’ve introduced a command line installer for the Nosto account which is now available for both Magento 1 and Magento 2. Designed to benefit developer use, the command line installer should streamline the process of updating a staging environment from a production environment.

Both enhancements are available in the latest Nosto Magento extensions: 3.7.4 M1 and 2.11.1 M2.

 

Enhancements for Shopify Retailers

Rating and review sync (Shopify only)

Retailers who use Bazaarvoice or Stamped.IO to gather ratings and reviews can now sync those ratings and reviews from these platforms to Nosto – plus, use them to complement Onsite Product Recommendations. This enhancement is currently limited to Shopify. If interested, please get in touch with the Nosto support team.

Mapping of supplier cost to leverage margin filters

In the past, mapping supplier cost from Shopify to Nosto proved to be a challenge; but our latest improvements have now made this a seamless process. Accounts whose supplier cost is stored in Shopify can now leverage margin filters with Nosto. These merchants can now, for instance, recommend and advertise only products within the margin range specified, driving better profitability.

Meta-field support across Nosto recommendations

Alongside margin filtering, we’ve added support to map any Shopify meta-fields to Nosto product attributes, which allows the use of any meta data in Onsite Product Recommendations templates. For instance, merchants who want to display indicators of color or size variants available for each product within the recommendations, can now do so.

 

Enhancements for Shopware Retailers

Multi-currency setup support across all platforms

Our Shopware plug-in is now aligned feature-wise with all other platforms by supporting multi-currency setups. In short: stores where consumers can browse and buy products in their preferred currency can now display relevant pricing across Nosto products. This enables the merchant to expand price view outside of the store’s base currency.
