Team Spotlight: Meet Ella Pello, Global Head of HR & Legal at Nosto

In this edition of the Nosto team spotlight, get to know Ella Pello, Global Head of HR & Legal. She shares her favorite part about working at Nosto, new things she’s learned during the pandemic, and the one item she could eat for every meal.

Q: What’s your favorite part about working at Nosto?

Ella: The people and the culture here are absolutely amazing! I’ve never felt like I had to put on any kind of a front at work, it’s always fine to ask questions, to voice your opinion and also joke around. I also have to add the pets, especially the dogs at the Helsinki office.

Q: What’s something you learned or tried for the first time during the pandemic?

Ella: At work I took on the HR role at the end of 2020, so that’s been a true learning experience overall. On the personal side, I’ve also started to do some gardening, which has never ever been my thing before. I’m still very bad at it though, so you might not want to ask me for tips 😉

Q: If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Ella: Hahah, we’ve actually talked about this at work at some point before the pandemic. I’m not sure I came up with anything too sensible back then, but it was either Paddy or James who recommended avocados, apparently their nutritional values are the best overall. So I’ll go with avocados.

Q: What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

Ella: Spending time with my family and doing sports preferably outdoors if the weather permits. 

Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Ella: Not sure if it’s the best one, but one of the most interesting ones at least; “a good decision right now is more valuable than the perfect decision sometime in the future.”
