About Pura Vida

The idea behind Pura Vida Bracelets was born on a 5-week post-graduation surfing trip to Costa Rica, when Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman met Jorge and Joaquin, two Costa Rican artisans selling bracelets on the street.

Pura Vida soon became a thriving business with a commitment to giving back to the community. Every bracelet purchased helps provide full-time jobs for local artisans In Costa Rica. Today, 100+ artisans hold full-time jobs thanks to Pura Vida Bracelets.

Challenge

With a rapidly widening selection of bracelets and other accessories, Pura Vida Bracelets needed a way to automate the otherwise very laborious task of offering product recommendations onsite. Displaying automated personalized recommendations would ensure an enjoyable customer experience and allow each customer to walk away happy and more likely to become a returning shopper.

Solution

Product Recommendations on Key Site Pages

Pura Vida Bracelets implemented Nosto to enhance the customer experience, increase customer lifetime value and boost online sales. The brand’s strategy focuses on three key pages on their website:

Best-seller Product Recommendations were added to the Home page are used to guide new visitors to the top-selling bracelets and inspire browsing. This addition resulted in an initial 9.7% click-through rate.

Cross and-up-selling recommendations on Product pages showcase related and higher-priced items to the product being viewed in order to increase cart size and average order value. This contributed to a 5.7% conversion rate on these pages.

Search and visited related recommendations on the Search page are displayed to show what other visitors viewed when searching similar terms, resulting in a 10% conversion rate.
